Training participants will gain practical knowledge of how and to what extent production areas, infrastructure and personnel are designed to meet cleanliness requirements. The methods of testing and analyzing particulars and the test equipment used will also be discussed and explained with the indication of best practice.

TRAINING PROGRAM

For in-company training, the proposed program is a preliminary suggestion and can be freely adapted to the individual needs of the company.

The following program is indicative (the division into days is arbitrary) and the trainer adapts the course of the training to the specific characteristics of the group. Individual topics may be discussed at a different time or in a different form than indicated in the plan.

Module 1

CONTENT:

  • Scope and validity in the context of the automotive industry.
  • Implementation of the standard in the organization – what to pay attention to.
  • VDA vs IATF 16949 requirements.
  • ISO 16232 and VDA 19-similarities and differences.

Module 2

CONTENT:

  • Transfer of cleanliness requirements to the manufacturing and installation area.
  • Cleanliness and costs to the organization.
  • Area and production line design-infrastructure.
  • Purity requirement in APQP (VDA MLA).
  • Verification procedure-process improvement.
  • Cleanliness and design classes vs environment (CG0-CG3).

EXERCISES:

Defining critical points in the specification for machines and production line;
Calculating an example problem from a field vs investing in area improvement;
Discussion and explanation on the example of the organization of purity classes (CG).

Module 3

CONTENT:

  • Inspection and analysis of samples.
  • What is a particular and what is the unit of measurement?
  • Qualifying tests and “empty” values.
  • Handling components for testing.
  • Qualifications of staff.
  • Packaging, storage and transport.
  • Environmental conditions.
  • Demagnetization.
  • Choice of control method.
  • Extraction methods.

EXERCISES:

Using the example of a device from the organization, the molecule and its impact on the functions of the device will be explained;
Outline and define a schematic for the cleanup steps;
Case study – which methods of pollution extraction will be optimal for the organization and test results;
Define the required documentation for cleanliness checks.

Module 4

CONTENT:

  • Methods of analysis and control:
  • Filtration.
  • Gravimetry.
  • Microscope (LM, SEM).
  • Elements analysis (EDX).
  • Light particle counters (APCs).
  • Direct control.

EXERCISES:

Discussion and explanation of the mechanism of action of 1-2 methods for the analysis of samples;
Workshop work-what reports and results need to be developed in addition to the measurement and analysis report.

Module 5

CONTENT:

  • Instructions for purity tests.
  • Documentation of controls.
  • Schedule and planning of inspections.
  • Presentation and presentation of results.
  • Continuous improvement.

Module 6

CONTENT:

  • Presentation of the principle of selection of auditors.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of auditors in the context of the competence Matrix.
  • An overview of the auditor’s tasks during the preparation and conduct of the audit.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The knowledge gained during the training, participants have the opportunity to consolidate during many exercises performed independently or in small groups. Based on the materials provided by the trainer, participants will practice how to correctly interpret the requirements and guidelines of the standard, where to look for evidence of their compliance and how to distinguish between observations, inconsistencies and potentials for improvement.
