The major part of the training consists of workshops involving the analysis of control results using SPC tools. Training participants verify the assumptions necessary for the use of capability indices. They also learn how to use capability indices in the most practical form possible – whenever feasible, based on their own data.
Join a group of participants from different companies and discover industry best practices.

INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICAL METHODS
Content:
• Introduction to the use of statistics in industry
• SPC and standards (PN, ISO, AIAG, CQI-25, industry standards)
• ISO 7870-2 as the international basis for SPC
• Why can statistics-based control lead to incorrect decisions?
BASIC STATISTICAL TOOLS
Content:
• Basic statistical measures used in SPC
• Stratification and Paynter Chart
• Use of a histogram to assess process capability
• Special and random disturbances in a process – significant from the perspective of selecting process capability indices
Exercises:
Determination of basic statistical measures
Building a histogram for sample data
Preliminary analysis of process capability using histograms – practical cases
NORMAL DISTRIBUTION – ESSENCE AND APPLICATION
Content:
• Normal distribution and the “3σ” rule as the basis for capability studies
• Why is the normal distribution so important in the context of capability indices?
• Methods for testing data normality (analytical and graphical tests)
• Assessment of process defectiveness using the normal distribution
Exercises:
Testing distribution normality (graphical method)
Assessment of distribution types based on a probability plot – practical cases
ASSESSMENT OF PROCESS AND MACHINE QUALITY CAPABILITY
Content:
• Fundamentals of quality capability assessment
• Machine capability studies (Cm/Cmk vs Pm/Pmk)
• Process capability and performance studies (Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk)
• Capability vs process stability – differences
• Analysis of process stability as a basis for selecting capability indices
• Selection of sample size and sampling frequency for different capability indices
• Determination of the Cpk index for attribute data (OK/NOK)
Exercises:
Determination and analysis of process and machine capability indices
Interpretation of process capability
Comparison of processes using Cp and Cpk
DETERMINATION OF INDICES IN NON-TYPICAL CASES
Content:
• Process types (A/B/C/D) and the selection of capability indices
• Capability studies in the case of one-sided tolerances
• Determination of capability indices for distributions other than the normal distribution
• Machine capability studies using indices based on 6σ and 8σ
• MSA requirements for process capability studies – selection and evaluation of instruments and measurement systems
We ensure that a large part of the training is devoted to exercises and practical workshops – this makes it easier for participants to remember new information.
During this training, practice includes tasks in the following areas:
After the training, each participant will receive a certificate confirming completion of the training.
