During the training, participants will learn the principles of operation of the IMDS database, acquire practical skills in using its functions within their company, and gain the ability to correctly enter and manage material data. The program includes both a discussion of legal and technical requirements and intensive workshops working with the IMDS database.

TRAINING PROGRAM

For in-company training, the proposed program is a preliminary suggestion and can be freely adapted to the individual needs of the company.

The following program is indicative (the division into days is arbitrary) and the trainer adapts the course of the training to the specific characteristics of the group. Individual topics may be discussed at a different time or in a different form than indicated in the plan.

WORKING WITH THE IMDS DATABASE – PRINCIPLES AND FUNCTIONS

Content:

  • Discussion of the main menu:
    – IMDS recommendations
    – “where used analysis” functions – verification of MDS (all or selected) for the presence of specific components, e.g. “Conflict minerals”, “REACH/SVHC”, prohibited substances, elements from suppliers, etc.
    – use of the “Analysis” function in practice
    – latest requirements – IMDS Release
    – responding to customer inquiries received in IMDS
    – checking own MDS
    – copying and deleting MDS
    – reporting and change management in IMDS
    – specific OEM requirements
    – database administration
  • Received MDS:
    – verification of supplier data
    – requirements and acceptance criteria for IMDS material data sheets for OEMs
  • Creating a new material:

  • Entering 3 parts into the IMDS database and creating a complete part from them
  • Entering company-specific components into the database
  • Entering into the IMDS database a part consisting of 12 components
