During the workshops, participants will learn the practical side of working with tables, not only as tools for auditing, but also as tools which support the development and improvement of the heat treatment process.

TRAINING PROGRAM

For in-company training, the proposed program is a preliminary suggestion and can be freely adapted to the individual needs of the company.

The following program is indicative (the division into days is arbitrary) and the trainer adapts the course of the training to the specific characteristics of the group. Individual topics may be discussed at a different time or in a different form than indicated in the plan.

Module 1

INTRODUCTION TO AUDITING SPECIAL PROCESSES ACCORDING TO AIAG CQI-9 REQUIREMENTS

Content:

  • Origin of CQI implementation and recent updates
  • Business context of CQI-9 in relation to IATF 16949 and Customer-Specific Requirements (CSR)
  • Impact of CQI on product safety assurance
  • Key changes introduced in the 4th edition of HTSA (June 2020)

Module 2

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SPECIAL PROCESS AUDITORS ACCORDING TO CQI

Content:

  • Overview of qualification requirements for special process auditors and changes introduced in the latest update
  • Principles of planning, conducting, and reporting special process audits

Exercises:

  • Analysis of the HTSA auditor profile – benchmarking
  • Development of a competency framework
  • Preparation of a sample audit schedule and reporting method

Module 3

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF THE COVER SHEET PAGE FOR CQI AUDIT FORMS

Content:

  • Overview of the cover sheet structure
  • Completeness of data presented in the audit summary
  • Breakdown of data and its use by the customer
  • Evaluation section and summary of audit results

Exercises:

  • Review and development of the first page of a CQI audit report

Module 1

STRUCTURE AND SUBSTANTIVE CONTENT OF SECTIONS 1–3

Content:

  • Detailed review of HTSA requirements included in Sections 1–3
  • Division of sections into quality planning and management responsibility, and production material management
  • Structure of audit questions and response format linked to objective evidence

Exercises:

  • Development of selected checklist items from Sections 1–3
  • Analysis of CQI-9 question structure and correct interpretation
  • Standardization of the evaluation of audited areas using selected examples and defining objective evidence of conformity

Module 2

JOB AUDIT IN CQI AUDITS (SECTION 4)

Content:

  • Structure of the Job Audit, including elements developed and verified in production
  • Explanation of question design and their linkage to Sections 1–3
  • Criteria and components that determine the Job Audit result

Exercises:

  • Standardization of the evaluation method specific to the Job Audit

Module 3

PROCESS TABLES

Content:

  • Breakdown of process table components with a brief overview of selected tables (PT_A – PT_I)
  • Role of process tables in the CQI-9 audit
  • Working with process tables during the audit process

Exercises:

  • Sample completion of selected process tables and the Job Audit report sections

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CQI-9 training includes a theoretical part delivered in the form of a presentation and a practical part consisting of exercises that reinforce the knowledge gained during the course.

The CQI-9 training prepares participants to effectively audit the heat treatment process.

WHAT IS CQI-9?

CQI-9 (Special Process: Heat Treatment Assessment) is a standard issued by AIAG that provides a set of guidelines and best practices for managing the heat treatment process within an organization. The CQI-9 standard is required under IATF 16949 and aims to enhance the heat treatment management system used in the automotive industry.

Understanding CQI-9 requirements enables more effective process management and contributes to improving the quality of manufactured products.

CQI-9 training is designed to provide practical knowledge on how to conduct heat treatment process audits. This supports a more comprehensive evaluation of the entire process and increases the likelihood that manufactured products meet applicable requirements.
